Not something we see in the UK.Even now, in some places, nearly molten rock resides as little as 2-5 miles below the earths surface. Heat from the volcanic activity makes its presence known by heating ground water and creating the thermal features we can see above ground. The harsh winters subsequently freeze as they hit the cold air producing some interesting results.

THis is amazing! Can you imagine how cold it would have to be to freeze a geyser? You know you really interest me..your photos are so awesome, you live in a beautiful country in which my heritage is from, and you have also visited my home town of SLC, Utah, and surrounding areas such as yellowstone, Jackson Hole, and alot of my own stomping grounds! You ski...which is one of my favorite things to do as well...I really enjoy visiting your albums! Thank You!
