    • Your Red-backed Fairy Wren looks quite different from our wrens here (TX) or in the eastern U.S., where a mosaic of browns predominate. Funny: a quick glance at this bird would have me thinking this was our Red-winged Blackbird (except for the cocked tail), a species found here in grasses and wetlands. But ooooohhh! Those frogs! (Or could they be called froglets?!) They are most beautifully colored! Are they common? Do you know their official name? I like this photo a lot, but confess I'll be searching to see if you have any close-ups of these lovely amphibians!
