Xizi and Artur are playing a vital role in keeping the Amur leopard species alive, they are part of the comprehensive Amur Leopard Conservation Programme, being 2 of around 120 in captivity in a carefully managed European Endangered Species Breeding Programme (EEP). These cats are at the forefront of WHF aims of supporting this highly endangered species. It is envisaged that captive born EEP stock will produce animals that will be released back to the wild
