I found this headress quite fascinating as it was made from animal hide and what appeared to be animal hair (not sure of the animal). But it was a lovely headress nonetheless.

Fantastic photo of Southern Straight dance regalia! FYI - the headdress is called a roach. Roaches usually are made from porcupine or deer, and are held open by a roach spreader that may have a feather holder attached to it.
