I have ask the same thing but cannot seem to get an answer. I have had parakeet's most of my adult like & I am 69+ and actually have three parakeet's now, none are tame but I am getting one tomorrow that has been hand fed for me. So will put him in a different cage. The lady that I am getting him from said that he will not turn wild as long as I keep playing with him. I am debating on taking the three that are not tame & giving themto the pet store but they are so pretty tht it is really hard to part with them. Haven't decided. I will ask at the pet store again tomorrow & see if I can get an answer? I am codybird7@charter.net

Is a Budgerigar different from a parakeet? To the untrained eye they look alike.
