Album Info:

This male (dark iris) and female (yellow iris) display their brilliant plummage in an elegant dance just after one flew to the other's side. Australia's only stork, the 'Jabiru' is an endangered species that is sensitive to environmental changes such as habitat destruction. Their low booming call is rarely heard but they will clatter their large beaks at anyone or anything annoying them. This pair live in tropical wetlands in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. They are very large birds. These stood about 1.4 metres. An Australasian Darter is in the foreground.
