Album Info:

(DSC05158) At the Oceanarium "Laot" (Fishing Grounds): Common name: Longfin Bannerfish, Black and White Heniochus, Poor mans' Moorish Idol, Black and White Bannerfish (Heniochus acuminatus); Max size: 10 in / 30 cm; pH: 8.1-8.4; Salinity: 1.020-1.025; Temperature: 72-78ºF (22-26°C). The Longfin bannerfish has a white and black striped body. The stripes or bands are wide and vertical. The dorsal fin is extremely elongated extending upwards and then backwards. It ends far behind the tail fin. The tailfin is yellow. The Longfin bannerfish is a popular fish that is very similar to the "Moorish Idol". The Longfin bannerfish is however considerably cheaper, hardier and easier to care for. This is why the fish sometimes is referred to as "Poor Man's Moorish Idol".
