Album Info:
Edeni Lodge, Trichardtsdal, Limpopo Province, South Africa July 19, 2007. Formerly known as Green-spotted Wood-Dove, this small terrestrial dove showed lots of rust in the wings in flight reminding us of New World Ground-Doves (genus Columbina). Earlier authorities did not hyphenate Wood-Dove. Several local races have been described based on overall coloration, but neither Howard & Moore nor Clements recognize them. Canon PowerShot S3IS.
