    • A burning bush, indeed, peacefully glowing in the woods. Beautifully observed and entitled! It was interesting for me to see "autumn" color in San Diego in early January, primarily from maple trees. (A couple of storms while we were away seem to have blown most of the last reddish leaves from the trees in our New Orleans neighborhood -- our finest color was in December this season.) By the way, your comment that the brick color of Ledbury houses reminded you of the red clay of Georgia and N. Carolina was very apt. The soil of much of Herefordshire is rich in reddish clay, making it fertile if not very well drained, as well as providing photographic opportunities! I often think of the "Red Clay Country" of the song when we are there ...
