Album Info:

"La Fortaleza" with Christmas decorations in Old San Juan. La Fortaleza, also known as Palacio de Santa Catalina, was the first fort contructed by Spain to protect the city of San Juan in Puerto Rico. Construction started in 1533 and ended in 1540. In 1822 Spain designated La Fortaleza as the official residence of the Governor of Puerto Rico. In 1983, UNESCO designated La Fortaleza as World Heritage Cultural Site (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/266). Today, the "Palacio de Santa Catalina" still is the living quarters of the Governor of Puerto Rico. It's considered the oldest state house in the Americas.
