Album Info:
I bought a new feeder for the Cardinals because the squirrels were raiding the other feeder that the Cardinals liked. This feeder just holds sunflower seeds (probably would hold safflower seed also). Anyway, it had been raining the other day, and I took this shot through the patio doors from inside my family room. This is the first photo I took after my eye surgery! P1230807

Great shot of my favorite bird, next to the Bald Eagle. Your eye must be very good to catch this shot. Excellent, my friend.

Sir, I came to apologise to you for my shameful cardinal bashing...Please forgive me...I promise I wont ever do that...I was informed what a wonderful being you are...how well you care of your beloved girlfriend..Oh how lovely would be if I could be a cardninala:))Singing the tarantella...happy to be your girlfriend....Of course if you would be a free bachlor... Now I go back to my western nest, where is cold and rainy but that never last...and will come the summer with its vengence...I would roast on a vire fencing from terrible heat...Good bye Sir, wish you well and happy spring..and your girlfriend a lovely song to sing...Sincerely Marra the HUN...

Great shot. So this one works with keeping the tree rats out?? Wish I had this member of the grossbeak family at my feeders. But too far west for them here. He is so nice and bright here.

You did a good job on this photo. We've had a few inches of snow the other day and I'd really like to go to the bird blind at the nature preserve today because there are usually more birds at the feeders when there is snow on the ground. However, I'm in the middle of some exciting - yeah right - home improvement projects (spackling and painting the walls and ceilings (ugh I hate painting ceilings) of some of the bedrooms ) so I won't have time to get out there today. I hope your eye is feeling better.

I already wondered why this shot was not so blurry :-))) Great to hear your surgery worked out well. I'm more of a Braves man myself, so Cardinals... oh well, the feathered variety looks very nice, so the name can be forgiven. Love your shot - the background is completely blurred, making the eye focus on the actual subject.

Congratulations with the new feeder! He is a handsome bird and has taken a liking to the new feeder. Always fun to watch our backyard birdstations. I too havve been outwitted by that pesky squirrel and have purchased yet another squirrel-proof feeder. They gat quite a bit of spill seed, I fear our squirrel friends are in need of Weight Watchers. ;)

He's a beaut! I never could figure out male from female, but it always seems the males are prettier than females.

Just a great shot. And I wonder. I live in so called western culture state, and such a feeder I can" buy here. What a pity....

Obviously the surgery was successful then! Wonderful! Super shot of a very colourful bird and you have just reminded me to go and top up our bird feeder. I'll just look at your other two first....

I think the gremlins have been at work, I am sure I commented on this shot. I love it, he is almost camouflaged by the color of that feeder.
