This view of the trail coming down from Mt. Monroe was taken from the Upper Lake of the Clouds. Today's hike included 4,750 feet of elevation gain and three White Mountain 4,000 footers, so this was quite a rigorous hike and we did it with gear for three nights out at the huts.
