Beautiful detail and wonderful soft light, the snake looks unhappy if it is possible for a snake to have an expression!!

Yes the patterns are lovely, but I don't particularly like snakes even if I do take pictures of them myself. But if I had to choose on which one was the MOST beautiful, I'd have to say the Southern Copperhead. Notice I said Southern Copperhead, not just plain Copperhead. Check it out. And Sharon, I must say that I never let those things stop me, I just watch where I am stepping and far ahead too.

Snakes have amazingly beautiful colors sometimes. You have done a great job of capturing this guy behind glass I'm sure. Great set of 3 from San Diego's beautiful Zoo. Hugs, from Virginia, Bonnie

excelent shot! I was holding a snake a few weeks ago and managed a few shots, it was very smooth and heavy and cold. Nice to touch. Not a poisinous one like this one though.

You are right, the patterns on snakes are fascinating. One should be aware and careful around them but not afraid. Great three Roberto. Hugs, Tenia

As long as he was behind thick glass, I like to look at their patterns and they are fascinating, but these critters would scare me to death if I met one of the street. :-) When we were on vacation out in Arizona recently, we drove through the Saguaro National Park and I was almost afraid to step out of the car because I didn't want a snake, scorpion, or creature to get me! I guess I missed a lot of photo opportunities for not braving it, but at least I still have two legs without bites on them. Ha! Rattle, rattle, rattle! ~~Sharon
