Album Info:
Niki at the Missouri Botanical Garden is the first time the works of artist Niki de Saint Phalle (1930-2002) have been seen in St. Louis in an exhibition of this magnitude. Forty monumentual mosaic sculptures made in a rainbow of colors and materials from fiberglass, stones, glass, and mirrors are placed throughout the Garden. The sculptures range up to 18 feet tall, and some weigh up to a ton or more, such as this amazing six-ton skull. Children are encouraged to touch and sit upon some of the works. A woman is sitting inside this skull--I've been inside and the glass and mirrors are amazing. P1280432

Now this is interesting, very facinating in full size. Most have taken a significant amount of time to complete. Wow I didn't even notice you could sit inside, thanks for pointing that out. what a neat place to be

When I saw the thumbnail my heart skipped a beat because I thought it was my mother in law re-incarnated! Phew! Thank goodness I then took a closer look. It really is quite amazing and is of great interest to me and not only because of who I thought it was. Out here there are several BIG things that contain A/V displays - there's a Big Pineapple, a Big Orange,a Big Cow,a Big Banana etc. etc. All are very popular attractions as I imagine this would be. Great to see and an excellent photo.

Such an unusual piece of artwork. You must have a great appreciation of the arts. It would be wonderful to see this in person.

Wow! So funny to see this thumbnail as the first photo in your album, on the albums page, you know? It told me right away this album held interesting things! (in case I didn't already know, lol) So cool that children are encouraged to touch instead of the other way around.
