Hello Maria. So what's so wrong with this one?? The beautiful ancient tree looks dead, admittedly, but it still has the beauty of line and form. And that path -!! It entices you to wander (better with a friend for company, and possible protection!) and explore a place that may be as interesting, but probably just as creepy:-) Maria, I had occasion to check out one of my Rainbow Lorikeet shots, and came across your question about Parakeets. Here's a link explaining that we Aussies call Parakeets "Budgerigars". They are a much smaller parrot, and very much held in esteem down here as pets in cages. http://www.letstalkbirds.com/budgie.htm#one 1) budgie or parakeet - what is the difference? The term 'parakeet' is almost a catch-all name given to many smaller parrot species, usually slim birds with long pointed tails. The name 'budgie' or 'budgerigar' comes from Australia where budgies live in the wild. The budgie does have alternative names given to it such as shell parakeet and warbling grass parakeet, hence people calling them budgies and parakeets. A lot depends on which part of the world you live in. In the USA a budgie is often referred to as a parakeet. Cheers (and I love this picture!!) Margaret downunder

In fact it is this photo I was thinking of, and I still think there may be another one.. the same way on a slope..:-) These are truly amazing. I had this birch tree in a Fotki contest and I have never been placed this high. People love old trees!!! http://public.fotki.com/lovejoy485/fotki-competitions/week8/kopio2474776.html

the other side of this "not one of your favorites" tree is just as nice ... as the other side .... and yes, there is a hobbit trail ... can't you see Bilbo's coat tails flapping in the breeze up ahead!
