Album Info:

Just across the Aegean Sea from Athens Greece is the Turkish port town of Kusadasi. A short ride from Kusadasi is the ancient Roman ruins of Ephesus. At one time Ephesus had an inlet to the Aegean and was a bustling seaport. Over the past 2,000+ years since the town was founded, the sea has retreated leaving this former seaport without access to the sea. What is truly fascinating about Ephesus is the fact that only 20% of the ruins have been excavated. Once completed, you will be able to step back 2,000 years in time and walk through a complete ancient Roman city. What has been excavated is still worth seeing as you stroll through this town. Not much is chained off preventing access. Like the passageway depicted above, I walked through doorways erected millennia before. Missing from our guide's narration is the incredible mystery of Ephesus. Hidden tunnels and passageways add to this mystery. I tried to illustrate this in my images. I hope you enjoy the excitement and mystery that is Ephesus.
