South Celestial Pole
frankmcdonald2 (Premium member) > albums > Frank McDonald - June 2007 - Vol 2
Album Info:
An imaginary point in the sky where the earth's axis, if infinitely extended, intersects the "celestial sphere" - the imaginary rotating sphere of stars. At the South Geopraphic Pole this point is directly overhead. This was a 15 minute exposure with a wide angle zoom set at 11mm focal length and an aperture of f5.6. Next time I'll go for 30 minutes. Noise reduction for blue and red was applied in Photoshop, and not in-camera. The dashed appearance of the trails is an artifact of image compression.
