(DSC05132) At the Oceanarium "Laot" (Fishing Grounds): Whitespotted Bamboo Shark or "Pating" (Chiloscyllium plagiosum) are found among coral reefs in the Indo-Pacific region, including the Philippines. They grow to a maximum length of 83 cm., and feeds in invertebrates that they find along the ocean floor. Whitespotted Bamboo Sharks are oviparous (they lay eggs). The egg has an approximate length of 5 inch and hatch after 14 or 15 weeks. Juveniles hatch out at approximately 6 inch in length. (Taken from the aquarium's adjacent signage).
