The mountains of Georgia have a large variety of hardwood trees as well as scrub pine, mountain laurel, rhododendron, and azalea. The prevalent ground cover is POISON IVY. Don't go wandering around the woods among the foot high tendrils. You can get the rash from bare branches, especially if they're broken.
