Great shot! I have a female slider at home and she has such personality. On a nice day we go outside and I have a bigger pond and yard for her to play in. She reminds me of "ET" when she looks up at the trees or the sky! I love seeing them in their natural habitat-My son got her at a flea market about an inch long-now after 3 years she's about 8 inches long, beautiful. Where is the info on the mythology? thanks!
baking their bodies in the nice warm sunshine....
Great shot, you must have been far away, because these guys leap back into the water at the first movement.
Regardless of generation, survival means finding direction of live. Even if it might be a scene of heat control for their life cycle, we would be feeling moreover beauty and naturally developed behavior of turtles over there.
By contrast, concerning it with an ordinary issue in my small pool where is acquiring clearness of water hardly and oxygen from natural life cycle. A master (T1) sent a letter that cited unique subject of “LOOK! YOUR PARTNER DOES MAS_U__ATION AT RESTROOM” to my partner (T2) in my office. T2’s wife entered accidentally hospital weeks ago, and he finely took care of his children to sustain T2 next generation. T1 observes all of the behavior of turtles under a presidential space focused by the animal planet, and that means sensible turtles learn culture, status of his facing live world. In practice, turtles learn such bad communication manner in which T1 easily brought. Eventually T2 felt negative from this master T1, and more turtles lost value of trusted environment in a occasion.
Rumor has that T1 swims smaller, unclear and dirty pool where almost all of turtles eager never to swim for their species. T2 ever caught T1’s swimming scene and complained, “T1 is being the cause of unwanted dirty water”. In this pool where needs clearness hardly, sensitive turtles and more visitors may defocus such a master T1, because dirty turtles make strange laugh as much as mon[k]ey television shows promotes dirty condition while turtles simply survives for their generations.
At this point, something like advisory might come to light..
Wonderful lil album---The Native Americans revere this creature very Highly too! Something special about them!
Worked for many years at a Zoo named.."Turtle Back" too!!

This is a great shot Congratulations on you potd! I have always admired your photographic work... and this photo is no exception to your awsome and inspirational work. You contiue to be one of my favorite photographers! Have a great week! Jodi
Wow......... I now see them in a different light. Thanks! This calls for some serious investigating. I love how you captured the texture of the shells and the rock.
Don, thanks again for another magnificient photos album - your slide show is stunning. I sent it onto friends telling them that you have always been one of my very favorite photographers at WS. Your photos grace our home
during the fall. And my very favorite spring photo is the
one that you took of the wildflowers at The Grand Tetons.
Thank you!
I really like this photo. I have a fondness for Turtles and use to have an aquarium in my home that had them. These are Red-Earred Turtles. Some are molting, neat photo. Thanks for sharing it.
great job! i would never have chosen turtles until i saw ur pic. makes u want to pic one up & kissy, kissy. thankx for sharing. judi (emenjae)author of spiritual writings.
Very nice shot.I took some shots of turtles that were in a pond at a nature center close to where I live.Feel free to check them out on my site under ponds rivers and streams or the woods album.
I happened to think of that computer commercial on television when I saw this. Where the turtle is trying to move this laptop computer and is having trouble and the lady turtle say's "Push It" and his response is "You Push It" very well done Don as you usally do superb photography.
I loved the hole album. Great job! I never knew the meaning of the Turtle and their shell's. God gave us so many wonderful creatures. Thanks for sharing.
How classic is it that this shot made POTD? I am so in celebratory mode because of the Lady Terps who won their first round NCAA tournament game against Harvard yesterday. I don't think those are terrapins but they're turtles and that's good enough for me. Congrats and LOL!
A very interesting shot. A herd of turtles.... Congratulations on having the featured photo today. It is a very thoughtful capture. Best Wishes, Marjie
Excellent grouping! Did u feed to attract them/lure them into this pile-up (LOL)? As per
usual, well-earned POTD!(This acronym already
covers Photographer and Don!)My daughter was mad about your work ab initio but I had to let u grow on me first! Interesting bit about Eastern mythology. Here in the RSA we have
more Terrapins in fresh water than turtles.T&T
Don, fabulous shot! What I love about it, is that it has an entire story wrapped all into one photo! Excellent! You always have such great work! THanks so much, your biggest fan, Lori in Utah
Wonderful album as always, and thanks for sharing. Great mixture of nature... with humor! I'd love to see what you and your camera could show us about whales???
