Album Info:

(DSC05099) At the Oceanarium "Laot" (Fishing Grounds): Long-spined Tripodfish or "Sungay-sungayan" (Pseudotriacanthus strigilifer) lives in the Indo-Pacific region - Gulf of Oman to Indonesia and the Philippines; occurs in coastal and estruarine waters, on sand or mud flats; grows to a maximum length of 25 cm.; eats benthic invertebrates. Much like its relatives the triggerfish and the filefish, the tripodfish's first ray of the dorsal fin is formed to a spine. In addition it has 2 spines in place of ventral fins. It is sharp and heavy. (Taken from the signage adjacent to the aquarium tank.)
