After resupplying and grocery shopping for the remainder of the trip in Alpine, TX we continued along past Mitre Peak (6190 feet) (6:10 PM) to the west from TX 118 near Fort Davis, TX. Our destination tonight was the Overland Trail Campground & Cabins in Fort Davis, TX. Here we took showers and cleaned up and looked forward to sleeping overnight in a bed for a change. In the evening we went out for a ride to the nearby McDonald Observatory for a star gazing program (no photos).
