The summit of Telescope Peak features an "ammo can" hiker register and expansive 360 degree vistas. Southward the lofty and dissected crest of the Panamints (foreground) marches toward the horizon. On the west lies the interior-draining Panamint Valley (at right), at 2000 ft ASL a deep floor by most standards... but still half a mile higher than Death Valley on the east side of the range. From the summit here Mt Whitney is apparently visible to the distant northwest during clearer weather.
