Album Info:
Mt. Fox is Australia's youngest, dormant volcano. Relatively recently extinct, this cinder cone was formed 560 000 years ago. It has a bowl-shaped crater at the summit which was formed by a volcanic explosion 100 000 years ago. It has never erupted. It lies on basaltic lava flows (see next photos) that are 23.6 million years old. No, it ain't smokin'. They're clouds. There are no historically recently active volcanoes on mainland Australia.
