Album Info:

"The Navajo Nation extends into the states of Utah , Arizona and New Mexico , covering over 27,000 square miles of unparalleled beauty. Diné Bikéyah, or Navajoland, is larger than 10 of the 50 states in America. Visitors from around the world are intrigued and mystified when they hear the Navajo language – so, too, were the enemy during World War II. Unknown to many, the Navajo language was used to create a secret code to battle the Japanese. Navajo men were selected to create codes and serve on the front line to overcome and deceive those on the other side of the battlefield. Today, these men are recognized as the famous Navajo Code Talkers, who exemplify the unequaled bravery and patriotism of the Navajo people." ~ Source ~ Ya 'at 'teeh ~ Official Site of the Navajo Nation ~ http://www.navajo.org/history.htm

  • This is a lovely opening shot for a magnificent album. It is hard to even imagine that winter is just around the corner... I really like the accompanying dialogue as well. Visually stunning and intellectually stimulating. It is a one-two punch that is hard to beat and has certainly become your trademark. We are so lucky to have your talent. You represent the best of what Webshots is all about. Clark from O'ahu.

  • The whole scene is magnificent. I know the story about how the US used the Navajo language for codes. It was the only code that the Japanese could not break. Thank you for sharing these history facts, and also for this fantastic photo.

  • This is incredibly beautiful, such a wonderful scene. You've done a remarkable job of capturing the reason why wilderness is so very important, something worth fighting to maintain. Thanks, Sharon, for this bold statement! Fred

  • Sharon, this is absolutely stunning. And going on my desktop now!! I'm sorry I've been out of touch - lots going on with our doggie-children, but we're getting through it. Seeing a picture like this is enough to send hope and joy into any heart!! Tibby

  • This is a beautifully structured shot, Sharon. A layered composition with the two great masses of light anchored by the dark forest and its reflection in the middle. The subtle pinks and golds are perfect.
