Album Info:

Whilst considered pests because of their aggressive overtaking of other birds feeding areas and their near complete destruction of fruit crops they set upon, these living rainbows are friendly Australasian parrots that make good pets because of their fun nature. I think they are the original party animals. They feed in groups of up to 20 and rest in much larger numbers. I reckon they get 'drunk' on nectar. They should not drink and fly because they are forever crashing into glass windows and doors. Usually they are only stunned. But they can take several minutes before remembering how to stand up and then fly. Shot in Queensland, Australia.

    • They are gorgeous and they do get around, I for one am happy to see their numbers on the increase, they visit us daily for breakfast and dinner, when their Native foods are hard to come by they love Granny Smith Apples - great shot!
