Album Info:
This photo was taken about 20 minutes after the Mars Phoenix Rocket launched at 5:26am on Saturday morning August 4th. Sunrise was about 45 minutes away from when the picture was taken. However, the rocket's contrail was, guessing here, about 30-50 miles high in the sky. The sun illuminated the contrail as a brilliant nebula similar to pictures from millions of light years away of star formations taken by the Hubble Telescope. The picture does not do justice to colors that were in the contrail's clouds. The exposure was for 15 seconds, it is big, and, even though you can't tell, the contrails were moving pretty fast.

Now THAT is a "Shot of the week" if ever I saw one. Fantastic! I wish I had seen it in person.
