This is a somewhat uncommon migrant and breeder, now declining in the San Francisco Bay Area. On 7 May 2005 I took my Ornithology class to Briones Regional Park where we saw two of these birds. I've been leading classes here for many years and this is the first time we have recorded this species here. Olympus D-550z / Nikon FieldScope 3 / 30XWA / hand-held
