This photograph was taken from about a mile south of Cape Blanco. The opening in Arch Rock is visible from this angle. Who would have guessed it!?! Most of the Reef Rocks are volcanic rock, but the area also has evidence of thrusting, Mesozoic rock. Doesn�t the ocean look peaceful? (dsc_0537ncs)

You can imagine seafaring people in the distant past conjouring up tales of mythical beings as they viewed these in dim light or fog.
