Hi Sharon. Love these gorgeous colours. Awesome is the word that comes to mind, with all your Alaskan photography, but in these two Sun Pillar photos you have accomplished something special - captured a phenomenon that is only normally available to the select few who brave extreme conditions to capture wild scenes and unselfishly share with us, the rest of the world. I really appreciated (but have not fully understood!) the scientific explanation, but will pass it on to Mark, (my eldest twin son), because he has the sort of mind that will appreciate it.
