Mountain Bluebird (Sialia currucoides)

Album Info:

Yellowstone National Park. I first saw this species earlier during our late August camp out at the park (while observing the bull elk you can see in the Mammals album). Unfortunately the bluebirds I say that day were out of range for a decent shot. On our way out of the park we stopped at a geothermal area. I was pleased to see some bluebirds in the area. This one even took a perch close to the boardwalk. I only wish it would have perched close on the other side of the path so as to be in better light.
