Album Info:

Once we got offshore, various species of Albatross were constantly behind the boat. The bird on the left is an Indic Yellow-nosed Albatross and the two other are Black-browed Albatrosses. The bird on the right is an adult and the bird in back is an immature. The former Black-browed Albatross (Thalassarche melanophrys) has been split into two species: 1. Black-browed Albatross (Thalassarche melanophrys) 2. Campbell Albatross (Thalassarche impavida) We saw both species on this trip. The Campbell Albatross differs from Black-browed in its pale eye and darker underwing. 27 August 2005, Tasman Sea off Wollongong, NSW, Australia. Corrections/comments welcome. 27 August 2005, Tasman Sea off Wollongong, NSW, Australia.
