All the bells you now see in this tower were recently installed - thanks to the UP Alumni Association. For many years, these bells were kept silent because of corrosion and age. But the University's Centennial Celebration is at hand (2008), and now these bells have been fully restored, and chimes music started resounding throughout the campus beginning at the recent Centennial kick-off this January. Now I can't wait to hum along the song's lyrics that go "U.P. naming mahal, pamantasang hirang..." (UP Beloved Hymn).
