The southbound group did very good time - 10:10 to complete this 15 mile hike and we didn't really rush the hike as we went swimming and had nice rest stops at Whiteface Shelter and Madonna Peak (although several complained I moved us along too soon from their siesta there). The total elevation gain was 4,980 feet. This I consider a highly recommended hike.
