Album Info:

(DSC05187) At the Oceanarium "Laot" (Fishing Grounds): Lipstick Tang or "Labahita" or Naso Tang or Orangespine Unicornfish (Naso lituratus) is found in areas of coral, rock or rubble in lagoons and seaward reefs of the Indo-Pacific region, including the Philippines. It grows to maximum length of 46 cm.; eats leafy brown algae. Its common name refers to the red around the lips. They are also called "unicornfish" because of a spike that protrudes from the forehead in some species; however others have a bulbous protrusion rather than a pronounced spike, and some lack a spike altogether. Unicornfish usually have a pair of spines on each side of the tail shaft that are used for defense. (Taken from the aquarium tank's adjacent signage)
