Album Info:
Frank Bouton was a member and officer of The Ramapo Chapter of ADK. Ramapo ADK President George Sheedy inquired about the funds collected in memory of Frank Bouton be used to build a shelter in the Catskills where he was born, raised and hiked. The DEC recommended that we build this shelter just below the 3500 foot mark in a clearing on Table Mountain near a spring. This shelter replaced the old Denning Shelter (photo #348) on the East Branch of the Neversink River which was recently removed that spring 1999. I joined the group on the first day of construction (June 15, 1999) which were when these photos were taken. Photos 353-358. Here is Frank Bouton who the Memorial Shelter was named for. This picture was taken at the John Robb Shelter on Hunter Mountain, Feb. 11, 1978.
