Album Info:
A Pen and Ink effect, which particularly suits linear subjects, was applied to the original photo via Corel Painter Essentials and Photoshop. The term "Old Queenslander" (or "Queenslander") refers to a style of largely residential architecture seen throughout our state. The style was common from the 1840's through to the 1960's. It is easily identified by the large open verandahs and double doors and an internal construction that allows an easy flow of air throughout the house. Raising the house off the ground on wooden 'stumps' added to the cooling effect. They were banned in the 1950's - probably because of termite threat. This example is from the Victorian era and I would guess was built in the late 1890's or early 1900's.

Beautiful, and very interesting. Makes you want to go there. You seem to find the best things to make pictures of.
