Album Info:
In the early 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps built many of the stone walls and stairs one sees in the park today, and extensions of what William Letchworth had begun. While much has changed in the park since William Letchworth entrusted New York State to take care of his 1000 acres, the basic feeling of wonderment when one visits the Park has not. Currently encompassing 14,340 acres, the park is rich in Native American heritage and colonial history from Red Jacket, Mary Jemison, to the Genesee River canal and railroad lore. The variety of natural beauty is unsurpassed. ************************************ **************************************** ********** A pristine view from an overlook of the Hogsback formation in Letchworth State Park near the Mt. Morris, NY entrance.
