AKaurora(02950) 4-17-2007 Homer, Alaska. A large diving duck, the male is mostly white with a black back and green head, the female is gray with a rusty-red head and white throat. They dive underwater to pursue their prey, they eat aquatic vertebrates, small frogs, newts and small fish.

It is so beautiful and I am fascinated with the deep green colour of it's head!! I love this wonderful perspective, it seems you sneaked up so carefully and took this shot while lying on your tummy! It is wonderful!!
