Some l5 yrs ago our neighborhood, contacted the City of Seattle for suggestion for the right choice in flowering trees to plant. We used their suggestion of flowering tree for improving our neighborhoods beauty. The city donated 1/2 of the funds to plant and prep the soil for these trees. The neighbors each donated a certain amount for each tree planted on their property. We rented a auger to drill the necessary for planting. We also got donations from a local hardware store for the peat moss and fertilizer. We ended the day with a picnic and everyone really enjoyed the event. Every year we are blessed to see the effect of this project. It's been so rewarding. All in all our neighborhood has had several homes sell but the majority of the neighborhood is still intact!
