The fruit is red and very edible.. can be eaten as a fruit, used in salads, or made into jam. Uhhh.. no, I don't have a recipe..but I do have a suggestion.. use gloves, and peel carefully :-)

Love the contrasts here with the soft clouds, spikey cactus and then your red and green. Really great composition!! Is the red part new blossoms or new cactus growth?

I love the clouds. A great shot .... The prickly pear is considered a noxious weed here in Australia.
