The bird you asked about is a 'Butcher Bird' he is so called because he is a meat eater as he butchers his prey before he eats it...He has his feathers fluffed up a little to make himself look bigger...he is not a Kookaburra...If you look at my 'Early Autumn' album you will see a Kookaburra visiting my back deck for a treat. We try not to encourage their visits as they plunder and raid the nests of the other native birds, Rainbow Lorikeets, Noisy Miners, etc.... P.S.
