Excellent clarity and detail. I was an ADJ aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence in the early 70s. The General Electric GE-79-10 turbojet engine similar to the one pictured here was the powerplant of the F4-Js (Phantom)and RA-5Cs (Vigilante)we had aboard. Each engine weighed about 2 tons including a 600 pound tailpipe and was capable of flying at over twice the speed of sound.
