Hand held capture of the 'conjunction' of Moon and Venus just as they are about to dip behind the tree line. Taken via a Canon EFS 55-250mm IS lens, working at 55mm f/4.0 on Manual focus. Exposure 1/4 sec at 1600 ISO. [2012-May-22 from Hainesville, Illinois at 8:54pm.]

Yeah, capturing the earth-shine (or 'dark-side') is usually easier on the first few days after new moon. In retrospect, I should have taken a moon-only capture too.

The highlight for me here is the moon - especially how the darker section is visible.
