This is not Geraea canescens, but a relative, Encelia farinosa, brittlebush. Encelia is a shrub, and though the flowers are very similar to Geraea, the leaves are a give-away, gray with no indentations in Encelia, as your image shows. Also, Geraea canescens is an annual which usually does not get nearly so bushy-looking as shown.
