This heavy snow was stressful on the birds and I had to clean off the driveway to put seed down...they came in flocks.

    • Yesterday I took a hike (posted as Bear Creek Canyon album) and captured a few shots of snow on branches similar to this photo. There was only about 2-4 inches of snow and the canyon I walked was rather dark so photography was difficult, but I love shots like this with trees and branches covers with fluffy white snow.

    • You are right about the snow being stressful for the birds. I can see a very tiny one in the picture. Here, in the UK some swans have had to be rescued and taken to a sanctuary, as they were so exhausted by the cold. Unfortunately help came too late for some of them. Clean water is, in many ways, even more important than food for them, though, with their high metabolisms, they quickly become stressed, if there is not enough to eat for them.
