25 September 2003; Abbotts Lagoon, Point Reyes, Marin County, California. Here is a winter plumage Red Phalarope which has been hanging around Abbotts Lagoon at Point Reyes, California (USA). This species is common offshore in migration, but is rare on shore or inland.
