A more closely cropped image from my 'Northern Michigan...' album. They are, of course, arctic birds - but in the depths of winter, think Huron County, Michigan, is a lot like the arctic tundra. I guess they ought to know better than anyone. This one was sitting on a telephone pole, and seemed unimpressed by the guy down on ground the with a camera. (Can you tell?)

  • Very impressive capture of this beautiful bird...I believe I photographed a similar bird at a nature reserve in Newfoundland. To find one in the wild must have been an awesome experience!
